Prayer Intentions -- Adapt these to your need and include anything from your school or parish that is of importance as well.
1.) For the Pope, the bishops, and all who believe in Jesus, that we keep our hearts open to the needs of the poor. We pray to the Lord.
2.) For the leaders of nations, that they may be committed to justice of all people. May they be dedicated to building peace for the whole world. We pray to the Lord.
3.)For missionaries throughout the world, that they may be safe and energetic in the work of sharing the Good News. We pray to the Lord.
4.) For missionaries and volunteers who bring God's love and God's word to others...We pray to the Lord.
5.) For all of us here--help us to care about our world and all who live in it. We pray to the Lord.
6.) For us--so we can be generous enough to reach out to others in their need...We pray to the Lord.
7.) For an increase in our own missionary spirit, so we may help the message and love of Jesus be known to the ends of the earth. We pray to the Lord.
8.) For those who have fled their homes to avoid violence; for orphans who have not found another home yet; for those who have been abandoned by their families--may they find what they need through the generosity of others. We pray to the Lord.
9.) For the poor--refugees and immigrants without homes, without food, and sometimes without water...We pray to the Lord.
10.) For those who are ill or who live in spiritual loneliness, that they may unite their sufferings with the Crucified Christ for the redemption of the world. We pray to the Lord.
11.) For the sick--particularly those in Africa and the rest of the world who suffer from the AIDS virus...We pray to the Lord.
12.) For our brothers and sisters in Iraq and Afghanistan, and for all our military personnel serving there. Bring your peace so the fighting can soon end. We pray to the Lord.
13.) For children--those who are orphans because their parents died from disease or natural disaster...We pray to the Lord.
Celebrant prayers before / after petitions:
Jesus calls us to go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel. We ask God's blessing that we can proclaim that Good News through the way we give of ourselves.
God our Father, you bless us with the gift of faith. Increase our faith as we answer the call to take part in the mission of Jesus. We ask this through your Son, Jesus Christ, Redeemer of the world.
