| Once again we find ourselves at the beginning of a new school year. We would like to welcome you and wish you many blessings in the goals you plan to accomplish. In this year 2009-2010, the HCA’s theme will be “I am sending you…” (John 20:21). These words from Jesus are an invitation to all baptized Catholics to become “ambassadors for Christ”. The Holy Childhood Association offers young people the opportunity to fulfill their baptismal responsibility to share the Good News of Jesus with children in the developing world. It also encourages them to pray for and offer their own personal sacrifices for those who are in desperate need of basic resources like clean water, food, education, and medical care- and above all the knowledge of the love of Christ. Because we know you are a strong support of mission education, I would like to continue visiting your school. The presentation will be about the Church’s missionary work which intends to inspire young people to be missionaries through prayer, sacrifices and sharing. Our children from the San Diego Diocese have been very generous in sharing what they have with children from the developing world. As they continue doing this, they discover that they can make a difference right here from their own places – from their schools, their parishes and their homes.
