Annual Contests
Every year from our diocese are invited to participate in our annual MCA Christmas Art Contest! This is an opportunity for them to share their faith and love for Jesus. Nationally, twenty-four winners are selected from entries from dioceses across the United States. Winning artwork is displayed at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. during Advent and Christmas season. Two grand prize winners are selected and their artwork reproduced as the official Christmas cards of the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States, Father Andrew Small, OMI. Contest winners are notified in spring. All winners receive a commemorative plaque. Within our Diocese of San Diego, several entries are also selected as honorable mention.
